.Net Architect/Lead Developer
Job Responsibilities
- Works under minimal supervision, and collaborates with business and IT stakeholders to develop a detailed understanding of business community needs.
- Understands and implements various design patterns to meet technical needs.
- Identifies opportunities and documents architectural roadmaps. Evaluates targeted solutions to be consistent with architectural standards and best practices.
- Provides technical leadership in tactical planning and participates in the strategic planning for the enterprise architecture.
- Creates shared models, diagrams, and documents to effectively articulate multiple views of the enterprise architecture.
- Works with internal and external development partners to support and measure project-level solution development, performing quality reviews and measuring adherence to architectural guidelines and procedures, to ensure consistent and coherent implementations.
- Understands, assesses and implements complex architectural concepts leveraging latest trends in object oriented development and design patterns.
- Identifies opportunities to leverage existing code to improve platform maintainability and reduce overall cost.
- Lead in the definition, establishment, documentation, implementation, and continuous updates of ByDesigns .NET and SQL Server standards, methods, procedures and best practices.
- Analyze the current ByDesign platform and technology landscape to identify weaknesses and work with IT management to develop opportunities for improvements.
- Lead the development of both conceptual and detailed architecture plans, and work with ByDesign management to develop a long term solution roadmap.
- Research industry trends & best practices and develop recommendations of technologies and methods to stakeholders at all levels.
- Create, maintain, and communicate enterprise architecture models and patterns to internal development team.
- Provide Microsoft technology based architectural consultation, support, mentoring, and guidance to fellow team members.
- Ensures solutions are robust, scalable, maintainable and extensible.
- Leads the development of quality, cost and performance metrics for the ByDesign product suite.
- Identifies the source of application defects, constructs plans for resolution and monitors and controls plan execution.
- Provides oversight on project estimations ensuring proper scope has been defined and high level estimations include proper work breakdown structures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in software engineering or related technical field.
- 8+ years of experience in software solutions development preferably in medium to large corporate environments or commercial software companies
- Experience with rapid programming, agile development, software patterning, and refactoring techniques
- Experience with Visual Studio 2010 projects
- Expert knowledge of the strengths and weaknesses of common programming languages (.Net, .ASP, C#, Visual Studio 2010, T-SQL).
- Experience with data marshalling, data transformation, and data representation technologies (Single-byte characters, Multi-byte characters, XML, Style sheets)
- Experience with MVC, ORM, EF, and WCF
- Experience with concurrent processing models, constructs, and techniques (threaded processes, thread synchronization, deadlock prevention and error recovery)
- Experience with advanced SQL Server concepts such as CLR's, Service Broker and advanced performance optimization
- Experience with advanced IIS concepts
- Strong written and verbal communication skills in technical settings and with internal management
- Strong active listening and presentation skills
- Experience leading small to medium sized development teams
- Solid knowledge of IT software development life cycle methodologies and processes
- Microsoft Certifications a plus
Contract acceptable but only through individuals.
